Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 1.66%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the fell 1.66% to hit a new 3-months low.

The best performers of the session on the were Unilever NV (AS:), which rose 1.77% or 0.9100 points to trade at 52.1800 at the close. Meanwhile, Takeaway Com Holding BV (AS:) added 0.81% or 0.7000 points to end at 86.7000 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:) was down 0.03% or 0.01 points to 16.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which fell 7.82% or 0.976 points to trade at 11.500 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:) declined 4.19% or 8.20 points to end at 187.30 and Adyen NV (AS:) was down 3.22% or 21.80 points to 655.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 111 to 18 and 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) fell to 3-years lows; down 7.82% or 0.976 to 11.500. Shares in Takeaway Com Holding BV (AS:) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.81% or 0.7000 to 86.7000.

The , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 20.42% to 20.70 a new 6-months high.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.89% or 2.22 to $54.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.80% or 2.33 to hit $58.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.95% or 14.35 to trade at $1528.45 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1141, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.9238.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 97.828.
